Frequently Asked Questions About EzClipse
INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL
INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL
How is EzClipse installed?
Some are literally lifted into place and the magnets do the rest! Other models require positioning the magnetic arms to the proper setting for the trim size you are adapting too, prior to installing. This process may take 20 seconds without any tools. Then simply, lift it into place and the magnets do the rest!
How do we know they are securely fastened when installing them?
Follow the simple instructions supplied with the style you have purchased for proper sizing and or alignment. Give a light tug on the unit once installed and it should feel very secure. If not, double check sizing and/or alignment.
How do you remove the EzClipse unit?
Make sure the light is turned off and has had sufficient time to cool. Then, apply slight upward pressure to one side of the unit while pulling down on the opposite side. One side will detach and the other will follow.
Is this product safe?
Yes. Size, weight, materials, bulb types, flange styles, drywall strength/flash points, heat issues and many other safety elements were tested to ensure this is a very safe product.
Do they get hot?
They can get hot depending on the type of bulb, but they are designed to dissipate heat and have been tried and tested to stay below maximum heat guidelines. LED bulbs are becoming more popular and emit far less heat.
Can they fall off the ceiling?
EzClipse units have been designed and tested to stay fastened on only 1 of their 3 magnets. When installed properly, they will stay fastened with children running around on upper floors, even through earthquakes.
What do I need to do before I buy EzClipse?
First, count the number of recessed lights you would like to cover. Next, measure your trim from outside edge to outside edge (full diameter in inches). Then simply pick out the style and number of EzClipse covers you’d like to order from our online store.
Where can I buy EzClipse?
We are currently focused on offering EzClipse on our online e-commerce platform. Join our mailing list to be informed when the product may be available in a store near you or at a local trade show.
How much does EzClipse cost?
EzClipse currently retails from $13.99, depending on size and style. For more information, please check out our online store for information about purchasing EzClipse.
Do the magnets lose their strength?
They will slowly lose strength, over thousands of years, by a very small amount -- barely measurable in our life time.
Will they scratch the existing flange or ceiling?
No. The magnets have a protective coating on them and there is a soft silicone seal that abuts the ceiling.
How can a burnt out bulb be replaced?
Simply remove the EzClipse unit, and then follow appropriate steps for bulb replacement for your particular model.
I’m a wholesaler/distributor. Where can I get information about distributing the product?
Please view our Wholesalers page on EzClipse.com.
Will it work with my pot lights/can lights?
EzClipse is available in universal sizes, so there’s a very good chance it will be compatible with your can lights/pot lights. Out of the box, EzClipse is compatible with about 85% of all recessed lighting currently installed in North America. For those that aren’t, we are currently working on special tabs that will also mount in seconds and will allow use of all of our products.
What exactly comes in the box? Is it a kit?
EzClipse is NOT like other ‘can light conversion kits’ you may have seen on the market. EzClipse is sold direct to the consumer, ready to use.
Will you be adding more colors and designs in the future?
Yes. We have the ability to produce EzClipse decor for recessed lighting in virtually any colour, finish and shape imaginable, so keep posted for new versions the product over time.
Is there any rewiring required?
No. Unlike other products on the market, EzClipse simply snaps into place against your recessed lighting’s trim. That’s why there’s truly no other product like EzClipse out there today.
Can EzClipse be used on recessed lighting that’s located outside?
Yes. As the actual EzClipse product does not contain any electrical components, it’s safe to use outside as long as your existing exterior can lights/pot lights are safely installed.
Is there any maintenance or upkeep required?
Not beyond some occasional dusting, the same as you would for any lampshade or light fixture.
Does it work on popcorn ceilings?
Yes, absolutely. EzClipse connects to the rim of the light, so in most cases, the texture of the ceiling does not matter.
